Blind man playing a console game

by Steven Datt on 7 March 2011
A lot of new and exciting technology that catches my interest has been released lately, but one of the few that really stands out is a video I found on Kotaku showing a blind man playing Abe's Exoddus - a Playstation One game released in 1998. He uses his hearing for the sound cues from different interactions in the game and memory of the steps and paths taken to traverse the levels. He's not limited to just playing 2D games, also being able to play titles such as Metal Gear Solid and the Zelda series with a little assistance from walkthroughs, but Abe's Exoddus offers him the most usable and accessible game experience compared to other titles.
