For all of you interested in games usability, but don’t have a subscription to Edge magazine, a very interesting article about ‘the science of usability’ in games can be found here. If you’re enthused don’t forget to give Wired magazine’s article about usability testing Halo 3 a read. Both articles are a great introduction to the aims and some of the methods used in game usability research.
Once you’re sufficiently aware of the possibility games usability offers you the next obvious step would be to pick up the phone, and talk to us about your game usability needs (or give this book a thorough read… and then call us anyway).
How about the rest of you? What other articles would you recommend (either for someone new or experienced to games usability)?
