What's happening at Webcredible

by Trenton Moss on 1 October 2010

September seems to have been quite a significant month, with some very exciting news. Drumroll… Angry Birds has finally launched on Android. I seem to be one of the few people in the office that avoided the iPhone and went down the Android route, and with countless numbers of Webcredibles getting more and more addicted to the game – and boasting of unlocking more and more levels – I’m finally able to join in the fun.

In case you don’t know it, Angry Birds is one of the most popular iPhone apps and is an incredibly addictive game. Basically, you slingshot the angry birds at just the right angle in order to take out the pigs. That’s it. iPhone and Android game apps (and previously Wii games) have opened up gaming up to new audiences. Their games typically have straightforward interactions and are incredibly intuitive – 2 of the key factors in creating usable products.

Other than playing Angry Birds, a lot of my time this month has been spent looking at new Webcredible logos. Yes, that’s right, folks, we’re getting a new logo! We’ve felt for some time that our current logo and branding no longer fits in with our proposition so this overhaul is long overdue. There’ll be more to follow on this over the coming weeks…

We’ll be launching our new logo and branding in time for the Ecommerce Expo, where we’ll be exhibiting for the 3rd year running. Ecommerce Expo is one of the UK’s leading ecommerce event and takes place on 19-20 October at Kensington Olympia in London. If you’re coming down to the show then please do pop by our stand.

Additionally, our training program continues to grow, with the launch of our advanced SEO training andGoogle AdWords training this month. Next month we debut social media training and we’ve got plans for more courses to start in the new year.

The Webcredible population has also grown slightly this month as we welcome 2 new consultants to the team, meaning we’re bursting at the seams within the office with no spare desk space whatsoever. Oh well, I guess I can go sit in a meeting room and unlock a few more levels of Angry Birds…
