Another year and another fresh new start for us all. I have to say I’ve never really set myself any New Year’s resolutions but this year I’ve got one… In 2010 (and in fact every year from now on) I absolutely will not schedule in a meeting the morning after the office Christmas party.
Our Christmas party this year was as legendary as ever and as usual went on into the wee hours of the morning (I do believe some karaoke may have been involved). I had a meeting set up for the next morning, and let’s just say I’ll not be making the same mistake again.
Aside from this, December was a quiet month at Webcredible (as it is every year). We close down between Christmas and New Year and a lot of us take a week or 2 off around this time so as to get a lengthy break. The office has been so quiet in fact that we sometimes have to go to lunch in shifts to ensure there’s enough people left! Many of our projects have been winding down and we’ve been busy scheduling in new work for January. We’ve also been planning and producing our business strategy for the new year.
In January we’ll be publishing a new report, our 3rd annual ecommerce accessibility report. We’ve evaluated the accessibility of 20 of the leading UK high street retailers against 20 key accessibility guidelines, ranking the retailers and assigning each an accessibility rating out of 100. Last year John Lewis came top but will they maintain their lead this year?
We’ll also soon be publishing the results of our most recent poll result, as to which sector offers the websites that are the hardest to use. Could it be travel? news? financial services? government? We’ll let you know soon! Oh, and don’t forget to vote in our new poll, about which social network / social media site you find easiest to use.
So that’s it for another month. Happy New Year and I hope 2010 is a prosperous one for you all
