The Webcredibles have been very active this month with loads of events, learning, in field research, investigating new terms and concepts, the lot! I'll kick off with 2 great events we've held internally:
- We had our first ever bake-off in the office this month, all in support of the Macmillan coffee morning. It was amazing. Lots and lots of cakes and we raised a great amount of money for a really worth while cause. We're putting together a Web-edible cook book so we'll get a copy on the site soon for you all to take a look at our recipes and bake them for yourselves.
- We've also launched a skill swap initiative every other Friday afternoon so we can all get together and learn something new. This month we kicked off with a session on feedback and our next session is on mobile design... there's also been rumours of a sushi making session, a public speaking session, how to tweet session... all with the aim to keep our teams learning and having fun.
We've also been busy in the Training Academy updating a number of our training courses - starting with one of our most popular courses, Information Architecture (IA). So watch out for the launch of the new, updated course in the next few months!
That's not all...
We've also been out and about this month.
- A number of consultants have been traveling around the country performing user interviews and research for one of our largest B2B clients to help them understand how to improve their customer experience and internal efficiency.
- Our Business development manager Maya and Marketing assistant Alex were at Ad:Tec this month, which was a great few days of interesting talks, meeting up with the good and the great at the BIMA digital hall of fame - there's some great quotes on our twitter stream!
Next month we're hitting the digital scene
I'm presenting a number of topics at different events in October. Firstly, I'm presenting to the Health and Beauty Association members about how to build a great digital strategy. The week after I'm discussing a topic that has become hot news in the Webcredible office, Omni-channel, at the Figaro digital multichannel seminar. We're also publishing a research study into omni-channel on the UK high street, so look out on our thinking page for that to gain a great view of what omni-channel is, how it can be done, and who in retail is doing it well!
