Usability lab specifications

Our purpose-built usability lab consists of two rooms specifically designed for usability testing and viewing, but also suitable for holding user interviews. 

Our facilities come equipped with

  • 45 inch plasma TV for live viewing
  • State-of-the-art software (Morae)
  • Microphones for audio commentary
  • Cameras for room-to-room live video feed
  • One-way mirror between lab and viewing room
  • Networked PC

The set up

Usability lab

The usability lab is set up with a networked PC, one-way mirror, cameras and microphones so that one participant can go through the testing process accompanied by an interviewer. We're also set up for mobile, tablet or paper prototypes so whatever you'd like to test, we should be able to support you.

Viewing room

The viewing room is an airy room with wifi, a large table and a number of comfortable chairs. There's a one-way mirror in-between the rooms and a TV broadcasting picture-in-picture what's happening next door. We can fit 8 people comfortably and with 2 whiteboards you can carry out analysis in-between research sessions.

How much does it cost?

Hire of our usability lab and observation room costs a flat fee of £1200 + VAT for a full day (8.30am-5.30pm). 

For this price, you'll receive:

  • Light refreshments
